As the visionary Founder and CEO of HummingBee Consulting, LLC, Ms. Adrain B. Humphrey stands at the forefront of the battle against HIV. Her journey, ignited by a profound encounter with HIV-infected newborns in 1991, has evolved into a three-decade crusade marked by
passion, innovation, and relentless advocacy.

Ms. Humphrey’s career is a mosaic of pivotal roles – from Case Manager to HIV Program Director, and Operations Manager. Each position has been a stepping stone, building her reputation as a beacon of hope and a catalyst for change in the HIV service arena. Her expertise spans diverse settings: grassroots community organizations, healthcare systems, and state government corridors, where she has masterfully implemented and managed life-changing HIV programs.

The heart of Ms. Humphrey’s mission lies in her collaborative work with the Florida Department of Health in Orange County and the Medical Monitoring Project. Here, she delved deep into understanding the experiences and needs of those living with HIV. Her tenure with Clear Health Medicaid HMO Insurance as a Managed Care Coordinator further showcases her multifaceted approach to healthcare and policy development.

Ms. Humphrey’s educational accolades are as impressive as her professional ones. She is an esteemed Graduate Fellow of the Centers for Disease Control’s Institute HIV Leadership Prevention program. This academic excellence, combined with her field expertise, led to her prestigious invitation to the Harvard Global Health Institute / Harvard University Center for AIDS Research (HU CFAR) Steering Committee. Here, her insights were instrumental in shaping the AIDS Crisis in Black America National Survey Project, a landmark study published by Harvard in 2010.

Her work is not just recognized but celebrated. The Lowell D. Stafford Community Leadership Award by Miracle of Love, Inc. in 2016 is a testament to her unwavering dedication to combating HIV in Central Florida. This award, coupled with her impactful initiative of conducting HIV testing in county jails, underscores her commitment to reaching the underserved and often overlooked.

Beyond her accolades, what truly sets Ms. Humphrey apart is her enduring dedication. As a key member of the Central Florida HIV Planning Council and the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care, she continues to inspire, lead, and pave new paths in HIV care and advocacy.
